The trail that circles Seljalandsfoss is its most distinctive feature. In the summer, visitors can completely circle the large cavern in the cliffs behind the falls using the rocks and walkways. Stakkholtsgjá is two kilometers long and around 100 meters deep. The canyon is traversed by a number of tiny streams, and despite being very large at its entry, it becomes increasingly narrow as it continues.
