Taormina's most famous landmark is the Greek Theater, built in the 3rd century BC. It was built under Hieron II of Syracuse. Completely rebuilt with all the features of a Roman theater under Roman rule in the 2nd century BC. The Greco Theatre of Ancient Rome is one of the most representative structures in the city.
